WHAT’S THE RUSH... On Slowing Down, and Seeing More.
February is here, which is a good time for a check in.
I use Grace’s (now viral) planner to organize my year… so I’ll be stacking a new habit this month & reflecting on last month’s daily wins… IYKYK
January is a warm up for the year.
I opened the year with a question: What’s the rush? I ask myself this at least ten times a day. Each time, it brings me into myself— more connected, more present, more tender, more aware.
This simple practice has opened up new space. In my mind, in my creativity, in my day.
I’m committed to keeping it up all year—slowing down, creating space, and moving with intention.
The February Itinerary 🛫
This newsletter is coming to you from Mammoth Mountain, CA! I just spent a couple days at Outbound’s Camp Cultivate hosted by
and with Ben Dietz, Shelby Meade, Lysa Cooper & Heidi Hartwig.New York City, you’re next! Long Weekend is working on a brand development project at the nexus of boutique hospitality & retail. I’ll be taking retail market appointments, so please hit me up if your brand wants to be at the best beach shop there ever was.
In the spirit of international beach appreciation, I’ll be scouring Paris market week as well for the best of the best in the maritime department. We should probably split a profiterole, so LMK if you’re in town.
Looking Ahead: The Future Itinerary
It’s never too early to start planning a Summer vacation. When you need to turn the joy dial up to 11 and really crack your heart open, here are a few of my favorites:
⛵️ Sailing Collective
The Sailing Collective is my favorite travel hack. Private or group charter, you can’t go wrong. The best food, the best adventures, the best people. For me, living on a sailboat is one of the greatest pleasures. I’ve been to Greece, Sardinia, Sea of Cortez & Mallorca with this crew… so I think this year will be Sicily. Who is with me?!
🧘🏼♀️ Retreat to move forward
I try to snag an annual yoga retreat with a teacher I love. Again, you get to see a great new place, eat amazing food, make new friends and move your body in the most delicious of ways. Do it enough, and you get a new international friend group who loves to travel. What a blessing. Kate, Kyle, Krissy, Christopher & Alex have all shown me the best time.
🌴 Enjoy where you’re at
Last minute adventuring close to home is another personal fave. I booked Casa Loma on a recommendation from Lynette and am already dreaming of going back. The location is perfect, the hotel is an oasis right in the heart of Laguna.
🦐 Take a long lunch
If you need to feel like you’re in the Mediterranean, but you’re actually at home, find a restaurant nearby to transport you. I had a leisurely lunch with my friend Alice at Crudo E Nudo last week and found the tension of the week melting away with each bite. If you want to take an even longer lunch, how about seven days in Provence with Chef Brian (book now & thank me later).
With that, take care of yourself, keep it simple, slow down, meditate & spend time outdoors.
Dialing up the joy to 11!!!
Thanks for the shout, Tracy! Stoked you joined us for Camp Cultivate - see you in NYC later this week.
